Customer Spotlight – Pineview & Hilltop Poultry South Australia
At Encaps, we love working with businesses that take a proactive approach to fire protection - and our recent work with Pineview and Hilltop Poultry in South Australia is a great example. Located near Burdett in the Murray Bridge region, Pineview and Hilltop are established commercial poultry-growing operations supplying the Inghams network. The farms rely on significant electrical infrastructure, automated equipment and machinery to keep their operations running, making fire prevention and early intervention an important part of protecting their people, property and investment.
We’ve been working closely with Operations Manager Karina Harvie, who is also part of the next generation of the family business.

For Pineview and Hilltop, the focus wasn't simply on having fire extinguishers available. It was about putting early-stage automatic fire suppression in the right places, particularly around electrical switchboards, together with portable protection for vehicles and machinery.
Across the properties, the team has installed 46 x BlazeCut Tube-based automatic suppression systems for their electrical switchboards. Most small cabinets only required the T025E system (25cm) pictured, while other larger cabinets required the 1m T100E system.
The BlazeCut T Series is a simple and cost-effective fire protection device specifically designed for small enclosures.
The system consists of a heat-sensitive tube that is manufactured with a special proprietary thermal plastic that ruptures when a fire is detected. The tube has both a storage and a detection function, which means that the extinguishing agent is stored directly in the tube and no additional storage device such as a cylinder is required.

Karina and the team also purchased 24 Firestrykers for their fleet of vehicles and small machinery. The Firestryker is an innovative fire extinguisher with 100 seconds discharge time. Its compact, lightweight, easy-to-use design is ideal for use in vehicles, boats, campers, caravans, workshops and offices. Certified for 8 years, environmentally friendly, NO routine servicing required and leaves no mess or residue.
This combination provides multiple layers of protection - automatic detection and suppression where a fire could start, backed up by portable systems for mobile equipment.

At around 10 cents per day over the 10-year operational life, the BlazeCut system provided by Encaps was a no-brainer, while the fact that you don’t need to service the FireStrykers also meant significant savings over the life of the product.”
